In the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, online influencers have discussed how to “get back to normal.” But the members of the Guild of Future Architects (GoFA) are not interested in going back to normal or resetting the status quo. The group is interested in imagining, prototyping, and building a much better set of systems for our interdependent global society.
Dot Connector Studio’s Jessica Clark is editing narratives and analyses generated from 10 weekly online sessions in Spring 2020 designed to help participants imagine the pathway between now and a post-pandemic future. In the first week, participants went 10 years back and 10 years forward (2010 & 2030). By the final week, they traveled 100 years out each way (1920 & 2120).
Drawing on these sessions, Clark is editing a collection of pieces about possible futures, re-imagined pasts, and the lessons these offer from each session—as well as responses from participants. See the whole series as it evolves here at the Medium publication GoFAR.
