How do new media and technologies bring us together and tear us apart? This is the question I’ve been exploring over the past two decades. I co-authored Making a New Reality: A Toolkit for Inclusive Futures (2020) and Beyond the Echo Chamber: Reshaping Politics Through Networked Progressive Media (The New Press, 2009) and have written extensively about the future of journalism. In 2016, I co-founded Immerse, which covers emerging forms of nonfiction media, with MIT’s Open Doc Lab and TFI. In 2007, I founded Dot Connector Studio, a media creation, strategy, and forecasting firm—our current clients include the NEA, the Guild of Future Architects, and Democracy Fund. We publish my strategy card deck, the Impact Pack. Want to learn more? Drop me a line.
